The war has pushed many children to work and support their families instead of going to school. Osama Saied, a 13-year-old child, works in a market all night and carries heavy goods since his family is at risk of starvation.

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Ibtehaj al-Kamal, stated that child labor has increased in Yemen, “It is on record that one million six hundred children are working. The children who work in a difficult situation are most exposed to health and social risks,” said al-Kamal. al-Kamal demanded that children under five years old should not be used in armed conflicts.
